Telepsychiatry, telemedicine psychiatry, is a safe, and rapidly growing way for patients to connect with psychiatrist/mental health providers virtually rather than face-to-face. Telepsychiatry describes the practice of seeing patients through the use of a video conference platform instead of a traditional face-to-face visit. Through this application of telemedicine, a patient’s psychiatric needs can be assessed, and care can occur through videoconferencing. Rockwall psychiatry providers can meet patients in real-time, using a secure HIPAA compliant video conferencing technology that allows for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions.
The setup will be similar to a traditional visit, but over a video platform called Doxy. Doxy is a HIPAA-compliant telemedicine platform.. You can use Doxy on your phone, your tablet, or your computer. Once connected we will see the patient in real-time. There are options to connect multiple people to the video conference from different locations if needed. This allows us to deliver live, interactive communication with all those that are needed during the appointment time with consent. The process is simple, patients only need high-speed internet access, a computer, or a smartphone with a microphone and webcam. Even patients who have never used a video conference find appointments easy to connect for their online appointment. Our staff is also available before the appointment to do pretest calls if needed to ensure that you are comfortable and ready for your appointment.

Once you connect, you will be in your provider’s virtual waiting room for your appointment in the comfort of the location of your choice such as your home.
